St Mary’s School – an

inspirational learning community where all are valued and able to achieve their potential.

St. Mary’s is a happy school, with a caring atmosphere. We welcome families with a wide range of beliefs and traditions who wish their children to enjoy the particular ethos and good primary education that our school provides.

We hope that you find our website useful and enjoy finding out about us. We welcome visits from prospective pupils and their families and would be pleased to show you around our lovely school. In the meantime here are some comments that have been made about us.

Children

“We enjoy learning at St. Mary’s and our teachers are friendly. There are lots of exciting clubs and activities which are fun to join. Our school is a lovely place to learn.”

Jemma R, Katherine B and Kathryn P (St. Mary’s pupils.)

“They teach me lots of new things and it’s really interesting. We have a lovely climbing frame and playground games. I enjoy acting and singing in our class assemblies.”

Aston R (St. Mary’s pupil)

Parents

“I love the community feel of St. Mary’s. All the children look out for each other and have an understanding of how they should behave in society. It’s giving my girls a great start in life!”

Mrs. J. English. (Parent of two pupils)

Ofsted

“Pupils are articulate, friendly and well behaved and have good attitudes to learning. They live up to the high expectations that the school has of them and they take responsibility for caring for each other seriously.”

“By the end of Key Stage 2 standards are above average and the proportions reaching the higher than average Level 3 in Year 2 and Level 5 in Year 6 are better than in many schools.”
